T H I N K   P I N K :

FOR BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH AND ALL SEASON LONG

 BY JESSICA PETTY

Contrary to popular belief, your fall wardrobe doesn’t have to be defined by neutrals, grays, blacks and browns. As much as we love a monochromatic look, use this October to experiment with color, and if you want our opinion, think pink!  Looking good and supporting women – what more could a girl want?

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month: a time to help breast cancer research initiatives by donating and spreading awareness. And while October may almost be over, supporting this cause never goes out of style. So, what better way to support all of the strong women in your life by doting some pink-toned pieces? We’ll show you some ways that you can swap out your signature fall favorites for a pop of pink with some trends that we’re loving:

OVERSIZED AND UNDERRATED:
THE BIG PINK SWEATER

Everyone knows oversized sweaters are a fall staple, but we challenge you to ditch your go-to fall palette and opt for a bold pink statement piece, instead. Whether you choose a bright bubblegum or a subtle blush, an oversized pink sweater can be both a cozy and cute homage to Breast Cancer Awareness Month. With a bolder pink, try pairing it with a black or gray skirt and tights, gold jewelry, and booties. With lighter tones, we recommended pairing with our dark wash bootcut jeans and a pair of your favorite white sneakers. It’s officially sweater weather, and we fully support braving this fall season in your coziest knitwear.

RECLAIMING PINK, ONE CARDIGAN AT A TIME

While we patiently wait for winter coat weather, cardigans are the perfect place holder. Adding a fuzzy fuchsia or peachy pink cardi to your wardrobe will serve as a seamless transitionary piece between your fall and winter style. Whether you’re dressing down for casual Friday’s –or dressing up for WFH – or spending an easy-going Sunday with friends, pairing this pink piece with your favorite blue jeans and a neutral cami will complete this relaxed autumn look.

THE BLAZER IS BACK

With the announcement of Project Retail’s newest partner, Mancino, we’re all for women taking charge of their professional wardrobe and adding a little feminine flare. What says female empowerment better than a bold blazer, especially when it’s pink? Combining an oversized, masculine fit blazer with a girly touch of pink is truly one of our fall favorites. You can style this look up with a chic work pant and heels, or tone it down with a white tee and boyfriend jeans. No matter where you choose to wear it, this powerful statement piece will redefine your wardrobe while letting the world know that you mean business. (Also, close cousin of pink- we love this lilac blazer).

SUPPORTING WOMEN IS ALWAYS IN SEASON, AND LUCKILY, SO IS PINK

Women helping women is the heart of the Project Retail brand, and there’s no better time to show – or style – your solidarity to all the incredibly strong women battling Breast Cancer. Whether you’re looking to soften up an edgy look or transition your boho-chic style into fall, adding a little touch of pink will help make any outfit a statement. As firm believers that your daily fashion choices matter, what could be a better fit than a pop of pink pride to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month, this October?
